Default Daily mail report always reports "No messages found"

Every day I get a report mail which always looks like this:
Generating report

From 2006-06-10 00:00:00 to 2006-06-11 00:00:00

No messages found

But there are mails sent out and received. "zmcontrol status" reports the logger is running:
logger Running
The process list indicates the logger database is running:
/opt/zimbra/logger/mysql/bin/mysqld --defaults-file=/opt/zimbra/conf/my.logger.cnf --basedir=/opt/zimbra/logger/mysql --datadir=/opt/zimbra/logger/db/data --pid-file=/opt/zimbra/logger/db/mysql.pid --skip-locking --port=7307 --socket=/opt/zimbra/logger/db/mysql.sock
I could not find anything releated to the logger in the file "/opt/zimbra/log/zimbra.log", but the log file "/var/log/zimbra.log" indicates the logger is running, too:
Jun 11 06:48:03 h880950 zimbramon[20789]: 20789:info: 2006-06-11 06:48:01, STATUS:
I run the OSS Zimbra Version 3.1.2_GA_445.DEBIAN3.1 30.05.2006 on Debian Sarge.

Any ideas what I can do to solve this problem and get correct daily mail reports?

Thanks a lot

I belive this may be fixed in the 3.1.2 release.

Install it, and report back.

I'm actually running 3.1.2. Maybe you mean todays new version 3.1.3? I'll install it soon and report here.

Thanks

McPringle,

There may be a problem with your logger mysql password if you are experiencing these blank reports.

From the command line:

# su - zimbra
# zmlogprocess

What output do you get from the zmlogprocess command? Does it run normally and produce logs or do you receive a mysql permissions error?

Regards,

Andrew.

I was getting the same issue running 3.1.2 to fix the issue I would have to restart thr zimbra services by running zmcontrol stop / start. No errors were coming up in the logs.

I've just upgraded to 3.1.3 a few hours ago, so I'll wait and see what happens. Incidently I've just run zmlogprocess and it just returned blank.

We were receiving the errors across 3.1.2 on one of our upgrades and it was due to a mysql logger error as far as we could tell.

Upon resetting the logger passwords in the grant tables and resetting the localconfig.xml we got our daily mail report working again.

Let us know how you get on with 3.1.3

The update to 3.1.3 fixed this issue, the daily mail report is fine again.

Thanks to Zimbra for the good work!

I wish I could say the same for me, alas all is not rosey in the garden of Zimbra I've a feeling it has something to do with all the upgrades since M2 as there are other items that don't work properly.

I'm happy to wait for the SLES10/SUSE10.1 build though. Other than these minor glitches I'm still a happy Zimbralite
