[BUG 40067] Cannot use WebDAV (Briefcase) folders with windows 7

Please see bug 40067, filed by me.

I have tried to connect to the Briefcase using Windows 7, but have been unable to.

Windows 7 (and previous versions) supposedly has the option of connecting to a webdav share, much like it connects to a network folder, to use a SMB/CIFS share just as it uses a local drive.

If anyone has had success with this with Windows 7, please show me how you've done it, I would be very grateful.

I would also like to ask people to try this out, and if your setup fails too, please add your weight to the bug to increase its awareness.

Being able to simply, transparently replace a SMB/CIFS server with the Briefcase service would be great.

Try doing a search on WebDAV briefcase in the forum...there have often been reports of problems accessing WebDAV from Windows.

You might try connecting to

https://zimbra.mprinc.com/dav/your_email_address/

and see what happens.

Been there, done that.

Just re-tested prior to answering your post.

I have checked the wiki methods and googled around, but found no way to connect so far.

Still no solution.

By the way, I have already upgraded to 6.0.0 an Windows 7, problem persists.

I just updated the Zimbra Wiki with instructions how to use WebDAV with Windows 7:

I also had the same problem. But the command
net use * http://server_iport/dav/username/briefcase
worked for me.

Must install the Webfldrs-KB907306-ENU.exe and reboot the computer.
Did the registry tweak too.
