Default [SOLVED] Ldap User Migration and old mailbox restoration

Dear All,
I am very new to zimbra , i have installed the open source version GA-6.0 on a new server.I have configured the zimbra successfully and the only probem is to restore the existing mail ID's and all their mail boxes to the new zimbra server.

The old setup is like this
all user authentication is through Open LDAP with the base DN
dc=example, dc=com
Now what i want that is i have taken the all account information in user.ldif file and want to restore the same in the newly configured server.
i have also taken the backup of mailbox and also wants to restore the mails to their respective mailbox.

If we got the desired then we will move to the NE edition of zimbra and will replace the existing mailing system.

currently we are having the openldap and postfix.
pls tell me the exact way to achieve the same.

Thanks in Advance

There are several methods of moving to a new server and the method you're using isn't recommended, check the following articles:

Moving ZCS to Another Server » Zimbra :: Blog
Moving ZCS to New Server - Zimbra :: Wiki

There are other articles in the wiki about moving to a new server and plenty of threads in the forums that discuss this if you'd care to search.

For LDAP data that you want to migrate frpom old server to zimbra, you need to parse your LDIF and pickup fields you want to migrate to zimbra. You need to look for mapping attibutes in zimbra which you can get from zimbra schema. Then using script provision all users and domains.

Thanks Veronica
I have mapped the attribute from openldap to zimbra Ldap and and have restored the Ldif file to the new Zimbra server.
The only prob is that haw can i restored the password from openldap to new zimbra server.although both the attribute are same i.e userPassword.
But when adding ldif file to zimbra it shows the error in this attribute
basically i want to store password to the new server, and we are using crypt password in openldap.

Question Parsing your LDAP file to match Zimbra's schema

yogesh2tech,

What tool did you use to parse your ldap file to match the Zimbra schema before importing the data?

I didnt use any tool for that , except ldapadmin
I took the ldif file from my old ldap server and change some attributes that matches to to zimbra ldap schema accordingly and then with the use of ldapadd command, restored the all users to zimbra ldap.
