gmail imap failure

I've been running Zimbra 5.0.18 GA for about a month now without much issues.

My gmail is an external account, initially using imap.google.com as the server. This was working fine until about a week ago, and then I kept getting errors saying that the connection timed out. From the server itself i could telnet to imap.google.com on port 993 without any issues.

This was 'resolved' after the server name was changed to pop.google.com, however the connection timed out again today. Going through some threads in this forum, there was a suggestion to use imap.googlemail.com, and this worked.

Has anyone here had similar issues?
