Default Can't login via IMAP using only user, needs to be user@domain even with one domain.

Sorry for the short topic :P, but I didn't really know how to figure this out.

Situation:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.2 (Tikanga)
  • Zimbra installed (6 Beta 2 Release 1547)
  • Only one domain created and populated with users.

We have 3k workstations that already have configured just the username for authenticating with the IMAP server. In order to reduce impact through this huge migration process we plan not to change anything on Wk's.

So, the problem is that we cannot make zimbra authenticate just with the username even when there is just ONE domain in configuration. On the other hand, webmail does allow login with just a username (i believe that's because of virtual hosts configuration).

In addition, Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 is showing a "The current command did not succeed. This mail responded: LSUB failed". I don't see anything on zimbra.log when i reproduce this error. I couldn't check if other Thunderbird versions are showing the same error yet.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

In order for domainless login to work, the domain must match zimbraDefaultDomain which is automatically set to the first domain created. If you've only had one domain this should be set correctly but you should double check it anyways.

Also you can check /opt/zimbra/log/audit.log for any authentication errors that should help troubleshoot the issue.
