Default Help turning SSL back on in Zimbra

Setup:
CentOS5
Zimbra5
Postmail

Problem:
I have no clue what I am doing.

Scenario:
I have had Zimbra running for a few years now, and have had no need in messing with it. It NEVER breaks.... GJ on the engineering !!

Anyways... I listed the main problem above... but this is how it all happened.

I was in the administration console via web. Turned off SSL trying to learn something new. Now.. can not get into the admin console anymore, and none of our email accounts can access their accounts. So basically.. how do I turn it back on to the way it is supposed to be using the terminal or what not.

Your help is greatly appreciated, and again, thanks for such a program that for once, really NEVER breaks !!! cept when I f' with it.

What did you do to turn https off? That will have no effect on the Admin UI, that always uses https, anyway use the following command: CLI zmtlsctl to set Web Server Mode - Zimbra :: Wiki What does the output of the following show:

Code:
su - zimbra
zmcontrol status

Thanks for the response Bill....

Here is what it shows:

root@10.10.1.20's password:
Last login: Sun Aug 9 20:12:33 2009 from 10.10.1.11
[root@xxxxxx ~]# su zimbra
[zimbra@xxxxxx root]$ zmcontrol status
Host xxxxxx.net
antispam Running
antivirus Stopped
amavisd running pid: 26609
zmclamdctl is not running
ldap Running

The antivirus is running... it was installed seperately.

What do you mean by "it was installed seperately"? What did you initially do to turn off ssl? What errors do you see in the log files?

Bill,

After reading your post and looking thru a few things, I restarted the services again and can now get into the Admin UI. I set SSL back to enabled in the server options for IMAP and POP. Seems all is well. Good thing is, I can at least get back into the Admin UI. Not sure why it didnt work out after the first TWO restarts. I can get in now tho. Thanks alot.

I installed CLAM seperate from Zimbra. Bad thing ??

Do you mean a non-Zimbra version?

Yes... I would say so. I downloaded it and installed it after Zimbra, ensuring I was fully up to date.

So basically you've updated the original zimbra install of clamd? If that's the case then there should be no problem.
