Default maildboxd not working after upgrade to 6rc1

Hi,

I upgraded from 5.0.12 to 6rc1 and now mailboxd does not start. zmcontrol status says that zmmailboxdctl is not running. I look at the log files and I get

Jul 28 18:55:12 mail zmmailboxdmgr[12751]: stale pid 5996 found in /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd_manager.pid: No such process
Jul 28 18:55:12 mail zmmailboxdmgr[12751]: assuming no other instance is running
Jul 28 18:55:12 mail zmmailboxdmgr[12751]: file /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd.pid does not exist
Jul 28 18:55:12 mail zmmailboxdmgr[12751]: assuming no other instance is running
Jul 28 18:55:12 mail zmmailboxdmgr[12751]: no manager process is running

so I delete the pid file and try again and it is the same thing over again. Please help as I have tried for three days now and I can't get it to work.

I don't quite understand how you've been 'trying for three days' to fix this when RC1 has only just been released/. What exactly did you do to upgrade your server (did you get any errors), I'm also assuming this was a test server?

This isn't likely to be the problem. My system is giving the same message, and is working correctly. Try doing a tail -f /opt/zimbra/log/*log. The next thing that should pop up is
"Starting logger via zmcontrol"
