Default Installing ZCS on OpenSolaris 2009.06

Hello,

After installing a bunch of packages from IPS, I have been able to install most of the Zimbra CS packages without any errors. However the zimbra-ldap package produces errors during the pre-install phase: see here

I am using OpenSolaris 2009.06 with Zimbra 5.0.12 GA build 2793 plus Solaris patches contributed by Sun.

Two questions:

1. Without zimbra-ldap, how functional exactly is the rest of the collaboration suite? I know opensolaris has its own OpenLDAP packages; could I somehow substitute these for the ones zimbra-ldap tries (and fails) to ship?

2. Can anyone suggest a workaround for the errors I'm getting with useradd and egrep during preinstall of zimbra-ldap?

Note that, if I simply don't select zimbra-ldap when I run ./install.sh, I don't get any errors at all. The output I pasted at the URL above is the output of running the Solaris pkgadd command, which installs the individual modules of Zimbra, because the Solaris port packaged them in SVR4 format.

Thanks,

Sean

Without the Zimbra LDAP you won't have a functional system, it's integral to the package.

Hi all,
Even getting the installation proper, I think you will encounter many issues as far as administration is concern.
FYI >>ZCS 5.0.12 available for OpenSolaris/x86 & Solaris10/Sparc
