I got the same connection refused result.
Actually for some inexplicable reason, I got the web interface running again- I restarted tomcat and the mailbox and I can get in through the admin console. I don't know how long it will stay up - usually fails again after a reboot - so what I need to do right now is go grab everyone's address book, since I can at least Export those and save as csv files, before it crashes again.

Shame there is no way to export all the email folders too, or is there in the ZCS edition?

Once I got everything out that I can, I will continue diagnosing with your advice.

Raj got your PM will reply soon as I have done my emergency exporting! Thanks guys, you are all being very helpful and I appreciaite it.

What you should do now is disable the proxy (plus the other commands) with the instructions you were trying earlier, it should work with tomcat running.

OK I have tomcat and mailbox running now, and users can log in thank goodness. Many thanks to you guys for the support.

I would like to address the IMAP/proxy issue which started all this, and perhaps will start a new thread so people don't have to plow through all the above. I would like to be able to sync with Outlook via IMAP, without making the system crash.

cheers

As I mentioned earlier, you should be able to use IMAP as it's enabled by default. You can quickly check that by trying to connect to the server, on the zimbra server run the following:

Code:
telnet localhost 143
You should see a response that says something like 'yourservername IMAP service ready', if you see that it's running.
