    Default mysql error

    Hi
    i know there has been a lot of post on this topic but i have tried most and it still seems to not work for me
    i am running ubuntu 8.04 and zcs-5.0.16_GA_2921.UBUNTU8_64
    zmcontrol status
    Host mail.office.ti
    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    imapproxy Running
    ldap Running
    logger Stopped
    logmysql.server is not running
    mailbox Stopped
    mysql.server is not running.
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    stats Stopped

    ./zmmyinit
    * Creating required directories
    * Generating mysql config /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf
    * Creating database in /opt/zimbra/db/data
    * Starting mysql server
    * Failed to connect to mysql...retrying
    * Failed to connect to mysql...retrying

    its a fresh install
    zmmysqlstatus status
    ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/opt/zimbra/db/mysql.sock' (2)
    Error while running 'mysql --user=zimbra --password=7g4U3EXbE_d_hLejvV4WRFGVoF7g --database=zimbra --batch --skip-column-names'. at /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmysqlstatus line 243.

    i also see this error in the log file
    [ERROR] Can't start server: cannot resolve hostname!: Success
    STOPPING server from pid file /opt/zimbra/logger/db/mysql.pid

    Then do tell us what you've actually tried to resolve the problem. Is this a new install, an update or has it just stopped working? What has changed on your system that might have caused the problems?
