Default I'm having the same problem

Hi,

I'm having the same problem, can anyone help?

I've downloaded and tried installing Zimbra 5.0.16 open source edition. I've tried it on Ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04 server editions, both as virtual machines using virtualbox on Ubuntu 9.04 desktop edition

All the best
Karlb

Search the forums for the words 'Syntax error Bad loop variable'.

Hi Bill, thank for the reply.

Already tried that search and it only comes up with 3 results, this thread being one of them. The others don't seem to be this problem.

All the best

Have you tried the solution that's in one of those posts?

Default Same problem

I am also having this problem. I have am installing on a virtualbox Ubuntu 8.04 server. I have gone through every step on the walk through and it hoses up at this point. This is the second clean install that i have tried. I have been able to glean from other forums that this is a dependency issue but I can't find what exactly that I am missing. I am a a bit of a noob, so it is possible that I am missing something easy. I would be grateful for any help I can get on this issue.

Follow the instructions in post #4 above, one of those threads from the search results has the answer in it.

So I'm testing this product out and and one of my testbeds I run into this very same error. A google search brings me to this page. I follow the directions in post #4 and and get the following results:

a page about ubuntu 7 and using rc
this thread
a thread that no longer exists
a thread about ldap
a wiki link with the error message not in it
a second wiki link with the error message not in it

Using 8.04lts
Open Source Edition Downloads: Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Software by Zimbra 32bit version
downloaded
extracted
sudo sh ./install.sh

./util/utilfunc.sh: 223: Syntax error: Bad for loop variable
