problem in sending mails

I have downloaded the source code and compiled it and installed zimbra
till then there is no problem every thing worked smoothly
all the services are also perfectly running
but when i try to open the user console it displays tomcat hompage,
but the admin console is ok,i have created users
and i opened user console using http://raghu..../zimbra then it worked well and asked for user name and password
when i send a mail i has given an error :NETWORK SERVICE FAILURE
caused by exception in javax.mail.messagingexception

and in the zimbra log file i found an error like this

Some more details about your set-up would help. Which operating system? Have you disabled any other mailserver etc on your server before installing zimbra? Were there any errors during the install? Are all the zimbra services running?

operating system i am using is fedora core 4
i have disabled sendmail and no other mail servers are running in my system

when i untarred tarball.gz file in thirdparty/postfix i have only pastfix2.2.3 and postfix2.2.5 folders but the make file is asking for postfix2.2.9

so i downloaded postfix2.2.9 and did the following steps

cd ../PostFix
mv postfix2.2.5 to postfix2.2.9
edit makefile to reflect 2.2.9
change PCRE_INCLUDE to PCRE_INCLUDE := -I/opt/zimbra/httpd-2.0.54/include
change build lines to ldap 2.3.20


then compiled makefile in thirdparty
then in zimbrabuild
every thing is fine no errors
i got all the packages in zcs folder
installed by ./install.sh
every thing is fine
and
./zmcontrol status
shows
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running

I assumed that you were doing this for an unsupported version, why don't you use the FC4 binary download?
