Default License Issue

Hi,

I got a strange problem. I have a 15 user Zimbra starter license. The license section in Zimbra tells me I have 14 users used.

But in Accounts, I have 13 Active accounts (2 of which are spam and ham email accounts). I also have 3 closed accounts, a few aliases and distribution lists.

How does Zimbra conclude that I have 14 users used?

Thanks,

Ash

"closed account" counts as one account.
spam/ham are not supposed to count (but iirc there's a counting bug).

Hi, thanks for the response.

That makes sense. 13 active + 3 closed - 2 spam/ham = 14 used license.

Nice! Before purchasing I saw in forum if the closed accounts are counted towards license and the answer was 'no'.

We have some temps in the company and need to constantly close and create new accounts. Can't afford to delete them. Did anyone run in to this issue and get any help from Zimbra at all?

Regards,

Ash.

Can you find back the thread/post you read this?
This needs to be corrected ASAP.

With 5.0.16, you can also make an easy export of a full mailbox for archiving purpose. You can then delete the account and data is not lost as it's in a .tgz file you can reimport if needed.

You can also use one single account to store all data for closed accounts (moving them to subfolders through IMAP for example).
