You can use your ISPs mail server to relay outbound mail and collect it by using fetchmail, you'll also need to make sure the 'Enable DNS lookup' is disabled in the admin console.

It should be https://yourserver:7071 - if that doesn't work then 'su - zimbra' and 'zmcontrol status' and make sure all the services are running.

Question Test install

I also would like to setup Zimbra for testing (fetch mail, forward through my ISP). The first problem I've run into is that the install insists that I change my domain name to be resolvable via DNS. I don't seem to be able to get past this point as it appears to require this prior to proceeding. Is there a way to skip this step?

You can say 'no' to the question.

that means zimbra ldap is not running, or the other services can't access it (i.e. can't resolve the hostname). did you see any errors during installation? check the files "/tmp/install.log.*" "/tmp/zmsetup.log.*"

is anything zimbra running? "ps ax|grep zimbra"
