Default Error in admin interface after changing hostname

Hello everybody!

After changing the hostname (Zimbra moved from the domain to a subdomain) everything works fine but server status in admin interface throws an error:
Message: Csfe service error
Error code: service.FAILURE
Method: ZmCsfeCommand.invoke
Details:system failure: could not find zimbraLogHostname server: null

Everything works (the command zmhostname tells the new subdomain correctly, emails are received and sent, user creation, mailbox access etc.). The admin interface works, too, but not the server status page.

I changed the server name in /etc/hosts and executed following commands:
su - zimbra
postconf -e myhostname=subdomain.domain.com
zmcontrol stop
zmsetservername subdomain.domain.com
zmcontrol start
postfix reload

What could go wrong causing the server status page show me the above error?

Thanks a lot

Did you re-create the certificates as well? If you didn't have a search through the forum for info on how to do it.

Yes, I recreated the certificates. They are used by Zimbra (I have only https enabled) well.

Other ideas?

Thanks a lot

Just to clarify something for me, in the first post you say you've moved zimbra to a subdomain but you have 'subdomain.domain.com' as the server name - shouldn't that be 'servername.subdomain.domain.com' ?

The Zimbra server name is identically to the subdomain. The subdomain is "zimbra" and I have only one Zimbra server, so this seems to be the best solution for me.

Thanks

Well from the error you posted, it looks like it can't connect to the logger:
Code:
Details:system failure: could not find zimbraLogHostname server: null
I'm not sure if you know this, but the logger is not essential for Zimbra to work. does zmcontrol status return that the logger is running?

Also, If you want a quick fix, simply install zimbra again over your current installation (as an upgrade). During the options phase of the upgrade, be sure to set your hostnames and what not.

Good luck!

Yes, "zmcontrol status" reports the logger is running. An update installation did the trick, now it works.

Thanks a lot!
