Default Upgrading to ZCS Standard/Professional

current version

Release 5.0.13_GA_2791.UBUNTU8 UBUNTU8 FOSS edition

Fellows,

We are now in the final stages of testing Zimbra. It is now running on our blade server.

Zimbra is doing well right now.

May we know, how we can upgrade our current Zimbra to the licensed version (ZCS Standard/Professional edition)?

Also, as per this;

25 seat package is $25/user/year ($625.00 US)

50 or more seat packages starting at $18/user/year
25 seat package $35/user/year ($875.00 US)

50 or more seat packages starting at $28/user/year
At 18$ per seat, and we have 500 users, the company will be paying 9,000 US a year.

Is this all? Are there other charges (hidden)?

Is there a cheaper way for our 500-user setup?

To upgrade you would just install the other version over the top and apply the license key. With respect to the pricing that would be better directed to the sales team

Well, as per my computation, 9000 dollars a year (roughly 405,000 pesos) is not an easy costing to defend before our bosses.

For the meantime while we are still courting our bossess to agree to the new investment, is there a way to back up our mailbox and settings?

I would compare against a similar system, perhaps using Exchange as your metric, and calculate the cost of the Windows Server 2007 software, Exchange and all of the CALs (client access licenses) that you would need to purchase. Each one has a charge, not to mention the cost of admin support for Exchange. The cost of that option is surely bound to climb way higher than the Zimbra solution.
