Default how do I install zimbra proxy

I have a fully operational zimbra server. I would like to be able to use mail clients such as outlook and thunderbird to access the zimbra accounts remotely. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to set zimbra up to allow this. I believe I need a Proxy app running to control pop3 and smtp.

You don't need the proxy nor should you install it if this is a single server install. Is it a single server and why do you think you need the proxy? You can connect your external clients by pointing them to your server. You should also enable "Enable authentication" in the Admin UI.

This is a single server install. I'm not sure how to go about setting the smtp and pop3 settings for an external pc running a mail client. Where do I set the configuration up within Zimbra to accept traffic from mail client running outside of my network?

You make the setting in the external client, that wil be dependant on which clients you use.

I've told you that in the post above, in the Admin UI enable (or make sure it's enabled) the setting for Authentication and that will force your user to Authenticate and be able to send mail.

My server has a private IP that resolves to my public address by MyEmail.com: Business Email Hosting Services. What would I use for POP setting
myemail.com
or
mail.myemail.com

I apologize if these questions seem vage and greatly appreciate your help Bill.

Whatever the external name of your servers is for getting to the web UI it is the same one for any POP3, IMAP etc. connections. As you're behind NAT you should also open (and forward) the relevant ports to your server. If I were you I would insist the users use IMAPS and if they must use POP then make sure it's POPS - i.e. both protocols using ssl.
