Default Zimbra is slow on VMWare server 2

Hi,

I have installed Zimbra on VMWare server 2. It just seems randomly slow down.

- My zimbra version is "Release 5.0.6_GA_2313.UBUNTU6_64 UBUNTU6_64 NETWORK edition";
- OS is Ubuntu 6.06 LTS;
- VM configuration, 2CPU, 4G Memory,

Have no vm tools installed at the moment? If I do want to improve performance, what should I start with?

Charlie

hello charlie,
I would recommend installing zimbra on other than vmware 'cause I have similar problems and frustating experiences installing zimbra on vmware.installing zimbra on vmware tends to slow down the entire server responses unless your server is a very powerful one,also you need to take into consideration the ram,processor etc..I have decided to install zimbra from a scratch on a fresh ubuntu server other than vm...
regards tashi

However, there's a huge problem CPU usage problem with VMware Server 2.

Is the Zimbra VM the only one running on the server ?
How many users do you have ?

You should try with only 1 vCPU and install the VMware Tools.
