Default Problem with manual backup

Using GUI, I am able to access both local and network folders, but Ubuntu prompt that I do not have permission to copy /opt/zimbra folder over to my network folder. How do I copy the folder as a root user?

Using Terminal, I am able to copy as a root user, but I am not able to access network folders at all. How do I access the network folder and copy zimbra folder? When I get to network folder using smbclient and type cp... it refuse to execute the command unless I am at local folder. But when I am at local folder, it refuse to access the network folder.

Frustrated,
Boon Hong.

Thanks to Google, I finally found a workable solution to my problem. For those who are new to Linux, the command to run are as followed:

1. sudo mkdir /backup
(make a folder named backup on local harddisk that will be map to the network drive)

2. sudo mount -t smbfs //192.168.0.3/ /backup
(mount your network drive ip address 192.168.0.3 to this backup folder)

3. scp -r /opt/zimbra /backup
(copy zimbra folder to the network drive mapped as local drive)

Question: I have some error messages. What do they mean and do I have to concern with them?

cp: not writing through dangling symlink '/backup/zimbra/openssl...'

cp: cannot create symbolic link '/backup/zimbra/openssl....': File exists

btw, how could file already exists when my backup folder is empty before doing the copy? Unless there is duplicated file already exist in zimbra?
