Default slapd/sasl startup error - unable to complete install

I am attempting to install the demo, and have not had much luck. It gets stuck trying to initialize ldap. First problem was the ssl symlink, which I fixed, but now I am stuck with the following error in the zmsetup log:

db_recover: Finding last valid log LSN: file: 1 offset 28
ERROR - failed to start slapd

/var/log/messages shows:

Apr 21 11:07:16 zimbra1 slapd[7842]: unable to dlopen /opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl-2.1.21.ZIMBRA/lib/sasl2/libsasldb.so.2: libdb-4.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I thought maybe this was another symlink issue, so I symlinked /lib/libdb-4.3.so to /lib/libdb-4.2.so, but this did not fix. The /opt/zimbra/lib directory has an libdb-4.2.a file, but that's the closest thing I can find, short of the default /lib/libdb-4.2.so file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version are you installing? On which OS?

The Network Edition is RHEL only.

The FC4 version doesn't work either. Problem here is that we are a large account that needs to test this in a xen environment, with the ultimate install planned to be on RHEL5 under xen. The way it is now, I can't test it at all.

The Network Edition doesn't come in an FC4 version only RHEL. I suggest you talk to the support people for help, as you're a Network User you do get support.

Never mind - got the network edition to work on FC5 by copying /lib/libssl.so.0.9.7f and /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7f from FC4 to /lib on FC5, then:

ln -s /lib/libssl.so.0.9.7f /lib/libssl.so.5
ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7f /lib/libcrypto.so.5

and it installed fine. Appears to be functioning correctly.
