Default Can you access address book via LDAP

Is there a way for a mail client application to access the address book of the user on zimbra.

I have users that use a mail client when they are local and the web interface when they are outside the building, I would like to keep the address books in sync or at least allow the address book on the client app to autocomplete (and perhaps modify) from Zimbra.

This command:

Code:
ldapsearch -x -v -H 'ldap://zimbra/' -b 'dc=domain,dc=com' -D 'uid=user,ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com' -W
only gives me the zimbra user list.

Thanks,
Gregor

P.S. After much searching I see that the contacts list is not stored in ldap. Is there access to this list in a fashion that an email client will autocomplete, or do I have to export and then import a list?

Thanks
Gregor
