Default Bound Zimbra to IP

Hello,

i use Zimbra 5.0.12. The Server have multiple IP´s and i need to Bound Zimbra frontend to 1 IP Address.
I have found a Article in the Forum, to change
jetty.xml.in
zimbra.web.xml.in
zimbraAdmin.web.xml.in, but it dosent work.

I get always the message in the frontend, the connection faild " ???remote.CONNECT_FAILURE???".
( the login screen works, but not the rest )

What is to do ?
Knows any one the solution ?

Thanks a lot and have a nice day .-)

René

Welcome to the forums

If you have assigned a specific IP address on the server for Zimbra why can't you assigned a specific hostname as well and ensure that is in /etc/hosts and DNS with a valid MX and A record ?

The reason is, there are other ssl sites, which use the port 443 :-) to, so i need a bounding to the IP Adresse.

Okay, so if you main sites eg. www._example_.com then why not call your zimbra installation zimbra._example_.com then it can be bound to a separate IP without having to update all the configuration ? Make life and upgrades easy for yourself

this is an old thread but if someone else finds this through google, then let me assure you that it works. Just check your work again.

I modified the files, restarted and got this connection refused error. But I checked and didn't update teh zimbra.web.xml.in file correctly. Once I did that, restarted again, and everything works.

This is on ZCS 6.0.2. Hopefully this bug/feature will get closed soon. Vote for this bug if you can: Bug 6111 – allow user to specify interface to bind to, instead of taking them all.
