Default [SOLVED] 5.0.11 -> 5.0.12 Upgrade failed (SSLeay.so)

5.0.11 32bit RPM
Centos 5.2

Tried to upgrade to 5.0.12 and received this error message;

I've searched the forums and could not find anything similar. I'll keep investigating but in the meantime I thought I'd post here.

Cheers.

You should have a install and zmsetup log in /tmp. Can you post these please.

Default Logs attached

Thanks for the quick reply. This is running in a vm, which I snapshotted, so I am more than happy to "stay and play" to get this fixed.

I noticed that the i486 version of SSLeay.so is pointing to /opt/zimbra/openssl-0.9.8g, which doesn't exist, but there is a 0.9.8i directory.

Sorry, should have said please check LD for root, and not the zimbra user.

What are the permissions on /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi/auto/Net/SSLeay/SSLeay.so ?

LD_LIBRARY_PATH is empty for root also.

-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 609187 Jan 23 2008 /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi/auto/Net/SSLeay/SSLeay.so

I changed this to zimbra:zimbra as I think that is one of the files that zmfixperms changes to be owned by zimbra. I reran the installer and same error. And in fact the perms are now back at root:root, so it may have re-installed the packages.

This may have been lost at the bottom of my last lengthy post;

I noticed that the i486 version of SSLeay.so is pointing to /opt/zimbra/openssl-0.9.8g, which doesn't exist, but there is a 0.9.8i directory.

[root@zimbra packages]# ldd /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi/auto/Net/SSLeay/SSLeay.so
linux-gate.so.1 => (0x0020b000)
libssl.so.0.9.8 => not found
libcrypto.so.0.9.8 => not found
libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x0026b000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x0027e000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00bb8000)

looks like the i486 version of SSLeay.so has been linked against the old version of openssl ?

It sounds like a previous install did not work correctly. This is what my 5.0.12 install shows
Code:
[root@office zimbra]# ls -ld openssl*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 zimbra zimbra   26 Jan 28 18:24 openssl -> /opt/zimbra/openssl-0.9.8i
drwxrwxr-x 6 zimbra zimbra 4096 Jan 28 18:24 openssl-0.9.8i
You could try linking it and then running the setup again.
