I just wanted to confirm that this did solve our production problem. Moving the i486 folder out of the way and re-installing (after adding a default domain value) did result in a successful installation on RHEL5 32bit with Zimbra 6.0.6.

I've moved an i486 folder into a 5.0.10 vm to attempt to recreate and confirm that the installer is still a less intelligent than it could be.
