Default Moving Open Source Edition from server to new server

Hello,

We use Zimbra 5.0.8. Network Edition since one year ago in Debian 4.0. (Ubuntu Version with platform override). Our License expired on october, and I'm using to move the open source method in wiki:

Moving ZCS to New Server - Zimbra :: Wiki

After resync to new server, I fix perms and I execute zmcontrol start in bin directory with zimbra user. All services start with success, I see "done" message in each service. But after I browser doesn't find myserver:81 either myserver:81/zimbra when I try to access. We use 81 port, because we have an apache server.

I've also tried reinstalling zimbra after rsync to /opt/zimbra, but the same problem appears.

Code:

Ensure your DNS on the new server is setup correctly
Code:
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/resolv.conf
dig yourdomain mx
dig yourdomain any
host `hostname` <- note backticks and not single quotes

I've exactly configured my server as the old server (hostname and nameservers). I must say that are different servers with different IP's, and I'll need to modify our provider dns to drive our traffic mx and any to the new server, but I haven't done this because I don't wanna miss our server mail / web during any time if new server doesn't work.

The new zimbra installation, before do rsync, works properly using the ip address to access to the server in the browser...

I'm wondering if would be better to ask for extend our network edition license (we're partners) and use the network edition backup and restore...

We've moved messages, account, addresses and calendars using export/import in zimbra desktop, affortunately we're only 3 users.

But now we can't receive mails. I remember that in the old server installation I asked for our server hosting provider to add an "A" hostname address. And I wonder if they'll have to change this "A" registry to point our new IP address.

I've changed dns for our domain to point new server, but if I run "host obertic.com" o "host obertic.dedi.acens.net" from new server I see the old server address.

I'm using exactly the same configuration as old server.

You were asked to provide some diagnostic information earlier, please post the output of those commands in this thread.

The A records you've posted in that output for smtp.obertic.com do not match the IP address you have in the hosts file, you need to fix that.

Thanks Phoenix, that IP belongs to the old server in Acens Enterprise, I've changed it in dns manager to point to new ip 82.194.87.236. Each server belongs to different providers, and maybe DNS take 24-48 hrs to take effect in the new server, is it possible?

This is the copy&paste from dns servers in the provider.

Code:
obertic.com	A	82.194.87.236
obertic.com	NS	ns3.acens.net.
obertic.com	NS	ns4.acens.net.
obertic.com	MX 10	smtp.obertic.com.
pop3.obertic.com	A	82.194.87.236
smtp.obertic.com	A	82.194.87.236
webmail.obertic.com	A	82.194.87.236
www.obertic.com	A	82.194.87.236
Thanks

That change should allow you to receive incoming mail, check your Admin UI and see if there are any messages in the queue. Flush the mail and see if they get delivered, if they're not delivered then look in the log files and see what's happening.

Hi,

smtp ip has changed but we are still not receiving mails:

Should I change the hostname machine to "smtp.obertic.com"?
