Default Zimbra Install failed with capitalized server name

I was trying to install Zimbra on a SUSE 10 SP2 clean server. The install went fine until it got to the final configuration screen. I go the

"Address unconfigured (**) items or correct ldap configuration (? - help)"

message and could not fix the ldap configuration no matter what I did. The zmsetup.log file had several entries that said

"failed: Unable to contact ldap at ldap://hostname.domainname.com:389: Connection refused"

My hosts and resolv.conf files were correct DNS was fine.

My server name used capital letters. On a hunch I change the server name to all lower case. This after I rebooted and ran zmsetup.pl the configuration was happy again. FYI

Where did you change the hostname to lower case? Please file an entry in bugzila so this can be checked and fixed if necessary.

I changed the hostname in the hosts and resolv.conf file from upper case to lower case. Prior to changing the name I could ping and resolve the server from the server command prompt with both upper and lower case spellings.
