Default [SOLVED] How to make ZCS connect other mysql server?

hello
Today I installed ZCS open source edition on the server.
Redhat es 5 U2, I found there was a mysql server which was customized by ZCS installed on my server. and this mysql server used port 7306.
My question is, is there possibility to use other mysql server to store data?
I tried to edit related item in the file /opt/ zimbra/conf/my.cnf to point local mysql server, it used port 3306, but unsuccessful.
any idea is appreciate.
thanks!

Welcome to the forums

A instance of MySQL is installed with ZCS and should not be changed. In essence ZCS should be installed on its own server, due to dependencies etc, though you can run other applications outside of it. There is no reason why you cannot still run a second instance of MySQL apart from the additional resources required.

thanks for your reply,
I just want to know the posibility to do that.
I think if ZCS can connect other mysql server instance, it should be more flexible than before.
