Question Host Name convention

Hi,
I just reinstalled CENTOS on my server and installed Zimbra. It seems to work fine and I get the Zimbra Administration Console. I started creating users, myself, a support email and an info email, however there is one thing I find odd. The emails addresses that are created are in the following format:

Ex:
support@mailhost.gapnet-technologies.com

I would like them to simply be: support@gapnet-technologies.com

I called my CENTOS server "mailhost" when it asked me during the network config phase. Did I do something wrong and will my email addresses now always be this long because of the .....@mailhost.gapnet-technologies.com ?

Thanks for your help again!

Create a new domain and delete the old domain. It will be tricky as you need to move/remove the current users first to a separate domain.

If there is no real data it is much easier to reinstall since the domain your creating is a parent to the sub-domain that already exists.

OK Kevin,
So if I understand correctly, I can delete the 3 users (no big deal) and just create say gapnet-technologies.com under domain section of the Admin console and then delete the mailhost.gapnet-technologies.com

If I still leave this as my hostname under CENTOS, there should not be a problem?

You can try to create gapnet-technologies.com but it may not let you since you already created a subdomain. If it doesn't work I'd just re-install. Doesn't seem like you have any data in the system.
