no its not a bug..
Zimbra is a complex set of tools put together and it needs regular maintainace and other stuf running in the back all the time.

if you dont need all that stuff run and do maintainace/creating reports and checking servcies that often then you can tell it to do it less often.

That would be because the bug hasn't been fixed, the one listed above has been marked as a duplicate of 38772 which is still open.

Raj, your fix worked for us - Thanks!

I have things set at
Code:
zmlocalconfig -e zmmtaconfig_interval=1200 (every 20 mins)
and in the crontab
Code:
*/30 * * * * /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmstatuslog
and the avg. load has dropped from 1.50 to 0.10.

Monitoring now to see if it still spikes a few times an hour, but even if it does, I think I can live with it for now

Hi
I changed these settings. But when I login to the admin console the status shows everything offline. When I check the status from console it looks like this: antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Running

Release 6.0.9_GA_2686.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 FOSS edition.

Any ideas?

Same problem here, running CentOS on VMWare ESX, Dual 2.8Ghz Xeon with 2GB Memory allocated to the Zimbra server.
