Default Unable to access VMware Zimbra server

Hey,

I've set up a Zimbra server on a VMware ubuntu server and everything seems to be peachy. I can ping my server and my server can ping my zimbra/ubuntu VMmachine. I'm running a host only network and created that as a DMZ zone both in interfaces and zones and opened the ports needed for me to get through to the webinterface, but alas, no such luck.

I'm wondering if it's a VMware problem since everything should be working as it is now. I'm trying to point a domain towards my mail server but doesn't get a response and i can't connect locally either. What would be the right VMware network setting for fixing this?

Can you ping the VM from another host on your network ? on the VM if you telnet to port 25 does it respond ?
Code:
netstat -an
su - zimbra
zmcontrol -v
so we can see what it has bound too.

I uploaded the result of the netstat -an here: pastebin - collaborative debugging tool

The zmcontrol -v returns:
Quote:
Release 5.0.9_GA_2533.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 FOSS edition
And yes i have a host on a different interface that can ping the VMwaremachine

Okay the ports are bound okay so have you switched off IPTables and SELinux ?

My domain controller is running with the shorewall firewall so IPtables would be managed through that i guess as for SELinux havn't really touched it at all, as far as i know.

I read through the logs of zimbra and there doesn't seem to be any timed out connections on port 25 which i would think should occur if it was a firewall problem
