Zimbra replicated to Openldap

Hello all.

Its possible to have a replica of zimbra ldap into an Openldap ?

I want to put a SMTP gateway with postfix that redirects all incoming mail to our Zimbra servers.

Postfix must search (locally, becose it will be in a remote location) for valid users and where their mailboxes are.

Then we have to set up a replica for that host running openldap.

it is this architecture possible with zimbra professional edition ?

Hello.

Sorry that i'm newbee with ldap protocols and Zimbra pro edition, but in the multiserver instalation it replicated against another Zimbra server.

What we want is to do it with an openldap in Debian, not with Zimbra.

It's possile to do this ?

The answer would be no, you should use the Zimbra LDAP for replication.

If what you are trying to do is replicate the zimbra master information to a slave ldap server then - yes this is possble using sync replication cllient that is built into openldap. But why you would want to do this, I am not sure. It would be easier to do what has been suggested with a multiserver setup.

Yes, what we want is to do smtp-in with our own postfix installation (with ldap data from zimbra)

We are planning to migrate our architecture to Zimbra severs, but we have to leave the smtp gateways untouchable.

Thouse smtp gateways are in a remote location that it makes impossible to them to query zimbra ldap for every incoming mail.

Then we thought that this could be done installing a replica of zimbra-ldap data into an openldap in thouse smtp-gw.

Why not simply install a zimbra-ldap replica on a server located with your smtp gateways? Maybe 2 for redundancy.
