Default [SOLVED] components on multi-server mta

Hi

we are setting up two machines, as shown in the multi-server guide 'medium' configuration. One will be the ldap and message store the other will be the mta. We're using the network trial, zcs-NETWORK-5.0.10.

I'm not 100% clear on what's shown in the docs about modules to select for the mta machine. The image shows the following items selected:

Install zimbra-ldap [Y] N
Install zimbra-logger [Y] Y
Install zimbra-mta [Y] Y
Install zimbra-snmp [Y] N
Install zimbra-store [Y] Y
Install zimbra-spell [Y] Y
Install zimbra-archive [N] N
Install zimbra-convertd [N] N
Install zimbra-proxy [N] N

Does the zimbra-store package need to be installed on a machine that is performing the mta role in a multi-server setup? I understand that some of the above are optional, ie. snmp, but which packages are mandatory for the mta machine?

No answers for this?

I'll try to make my question very clear.

I've set up a zimbra machine as the mta in a multi-server setup. I used the suggestions in the multi-server guide for a 'medium' setup, one machine as mailstore and one machine as mta.

The mta is up and running now (well, except for the logger service, some kind of mysql screwup), but I would still like to clear up some ambiguities in the document. Who knows, maybe it has some bearing on the non-functional logger.

The section of the doc labelled 'Installing Zimbra MTA on a Server' is what I'm not clear about. It says, 'press Enter to install the zimbra-mta package. The other packages should be marked N', in the textbox, however, there are several packages selected, not just zimbra-mta.

The same textbox shows nine packages to select or deselect. The actual dialogue in the install script offers ten:

Code:
Select the packages to install
Install zimbra-ldap [Y] n
Install zimbra-logger [Y]
Install zimbra-mta [Y]
Install zimbra-snmp [Y]
Install zimbra-store [Y]
Install zimbra-apache [Y] n
Install zimbra-spell [Y] n
Install zimbra-proxy [N]
Install zimbra-archiving [N]
Install zimbra-convertd [N]
so, my question is: which packages are mandatory for the mta machine? If anyone knows the answer for this, or can point me at some decent documentation it would be great,

thanks

Sean

For MTA server : zimbra-mta +zimbra-snmp (and zimbra-core)

For the other one (single mailstore + LDAP server) : zimbta-store + zimbra-logger + zimbra-spell + zimbra-apache + zimbra-snmp + zimbra-ldap

zimbra-archiving is for A&D (Archiving & Discovery) only
zimbra-convertd is currently beta
zimbra-proxy is useless in your case
