Default Weird status from zmcontroll status

I'm using the vmware version, and I have a strange situation:
I cant recive nor send mail and I'm getting some weird statues with ./zmcontroll status.

When logged inn as root, and i run ./zmcontroll status i get av and antispam stopped, mailboxs and mta stopped.

If i do a su zimbra and runs ./zmcontroll status logger and snmp is stopped.

If i do a su zimbra and runs ./zmcontroll start then ./zmcontroll status everything is running, even tho zmcontroll gives failes to start some.

I seem to be unable to send mail's. I have tried a mail address thats internal and eksternal with no luck. Any idea where i should start looking ?

Never run any of the zm* commands as root. These will lead to permission problems.

My guess with your mix of testing you'll need to stop everything kill all the zimbra processes and then use the zimbra user to start and check the status. If that doesn't work run :

ps -ef | grep zimbra and paste that list here.

You are right, I did a reeboot just to clear it upp. After i reebooted i logged in with root, did a su zimbra and checked the status. Everything was up and running.

I still don't recive nor send mails though. Where are the error logs?
