Default Split_DNS: bind in separate virtual machine

Hello,

we are soon going to install Zimbra in a Slipt-DNS environment.

Our plan was/is to install Zimbra and the DNS server (very likely bind9)
in separate virtual machine (we are going to try Xen and VMware)

In the article "Ubuntu 6.06 Server (Dapper Drake) Beginner's Install Guide"
under
http://wiki.zimbra.com/index.php?tit..._Install_Guide

bind9 is installed on the same machine as Zimbra itself.

Question:
Do you see any problems (installation and operation) if Zimbra is installed and used
in such an environment (DNS server in a separate virtual machine) ?

Thank's a lot in advance for any advise.

John

That is exactly how I have it setup. Zimbra in one Xen DomU and DNS in another.

Thank's a lot for the reply! Could you please tell me the partition-sizing of that Xen DomU domain(virtual machine) ?
I am aware that a partition sizing does probably heavily depend on the number of users/emails...
In this case there will be only about 10 concurrent users (test environment), but nevertheless it needs to perform well.
(because those users are going to decide whether or not to buy ZCS)

Any feedback is appreciated very much. Thank you!

John
