[SOLVED] upgrading to latest 4.5 release

Hi all,

maybe someone can help me out here. I had some issues while trying to upgrade to the latest 4.5 release.
I think there are 2 actually strange things:
1) Upgrading from 4.5.4_GA_763 to 4.5.11_GA_1751
Stopping zimbra services
Verifying /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf
Starting mysql

The service was starting here forever (1 day), so I needed to kill it at some point.

2) is this here:

No errors found

After starting all came somehow up so I could at least access mails.

You may need to reset the pass:
Resetting LDAP & MySQL Passwords - Zimbra :: Wiki
zmmypasswd --root newpassword

You can manually check that step you're hitting the error on before hand (without kicking off the installer) by running /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmdbintegrityreport.

thx for the reply. Unfortunatly hadn't time to test around till now since the server is still running. But now need to complete this task as I want to use Zimbra Desktop for my Roadwarriors.

when trying to change the mysql passwd I basically get the same.

zimbra@laetitia:~$ zmmypasswd --root newpassed
/opt/zimbra/bin/mysqladmin -u root --password=passwdmd5string password newpasswd
/opt/zimbra/mysql/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)'
**** PASSWORD CHANGE FAILED

Seems I somehow got a bad passwd into my Zimbra?

Just wanted to finish this one.

Reset the mysql password like described here and now update was running without problems.
