Another mysql instance on my ubuntu 8.04 server?

Hello, I'm running a working zimbra server on ubuntu 8.04 server without a problem. I would like to run another mysql server for (light) qeurying, can I just apt-get install mysql server or will this break zimbra? Anyone who did this before?

I don't think it should cause any issues. I built a mySQL server from source on Ubuntu 8.04 without any issues so apt-getting it shouldn't affect anything.

I'm not a zimbra expert so I don't know 100% but from experience you're fine.

I am new at forum but was working with zimbra server a bit...

This is the day when I need to have another mysql database on the server with ZCS.
This database will be used by some www and have nothing to do with zimbra database....

It is better to use existing (zimbra) mysql?
Or to install another instance of mysql?

Do not, under any circumstances, use the Zimbra MySQL for any other application. You could install another MySQL without problems but you'd be better installing it on another server.
