Default cluster installation question

Dear all,

We're testing ZCS HA feature on RedHat Enterprise 5.1 with Cluster suite,
we follow the "Cluster Install for Single-Node configuration guide", and

after softwares are installed and we're ready to start :

service ccsd start (We got error , there's no ccsd service, but we know ccsd should already include in cman service, thus , we ignore this step)

service cman start ( give the error message below )

[root@rh1 cluster]# service cman start
Starting cluster:
Loading modules... done
Mounting configfs... done
Starting ccsd... done
Starting cman... failed
cman not started: CCS does not have a nodeid for this node, run 'ccs_tool addnodeids' to fix /usr/sbin/cman_tool: aisexec daemon didn't start
[FAILED]

does anyone have the experience on this and have any advice
for such situation ?

Thanks.

RHCS 5 will be supported in Zimbra Network Edition 5.0.10.
It's not supported in 5.0.9 and previous.

Wait a couple of days and you'll be able to setup a working and supported infrastructure.

Exclamation clustering on cent OS

Dear All,

I am installing zimbra network edition 6.0.6 on CENT OS 5.3 for zimbra high availability. I am following the documentation given inside the zimbra network edition. I am facing the problem regarding starting cman service getting error.

cman not started: Cannot start, cluster name is too long or other CCS error /usr/sbin/cman_tool: aisexec daemon didn't start

Nothing comes in long by which i can resolve the error.
Jun 6 05:00:08 mail ccsd[17389]: cluster.conf (cluster name = cluster.example.com, version = 3) found

An other thing if I start zimbra services on active node there is no problem running fine but if i try to start service in standby node it gives me this message.
bash-3.2$ zmcontrol start
bash: zmcontrol: command not found

Can some one please guide me how can i resolve this error.

Thanks in Advance

Regards,

Sikander

Your clustername is too long just as the error message suggests. For your second problem you can't start the zimbra on the standy node unless the shared storage is mounted.

From the RHCS guide.
Cluster name limitations

* 15 non-NUL (ASCII 0) characters * You can use the 'alias' attribute to make a more descriptive name.

Smile Automatically

Hi All,

Thanks for your reply it helped me and now my clustering is working fine and zimbra NE 6.0.7 is also running fine. There is small problem regarding Automatically fail over whenever active node goes down and standby node is taking places it is not able to start zimbra mail service automatically.

Always i need to start it manually by zmcontrol start or by
/opt/zimbra-cluster/bin/zmcluctl start cluster.example.com
on standby node. As the documentation given by NE edition is very good. But i am unable to configure automatically fail over of zimbra services. I am also using heartbeat for high availability. Can some please guide how automatically fail over can take place? Is there any other method which can make this automatically fail over.

Thanks,

Sikander

Default cluster

Hi all,

Waiting for any suggestion for last 6 days but no response.

I really need some good suggestion on this issue. Is there some configuration problem with my cluster or zimbra NE edition 6.0.7?

Best wishes

Sikander

Can you provide additional info like output of clusvadm or anything from the zimbra logs during failover.
