Default Migrating to Zimbra

Is it possible to set up Zimbra to accept mail for defined useres and forward mail for non-local users to another server?

Basically we would like to set up Zimbra and have the ability to migrate users one at a time to it. Users who are not set up on Zimbra would continue to receive their email as they always have in the past.

I know how to do this in a Sendmail installation. I believe there is a similar Postfix config file setting for this, but I'm not sure what it's named or where the Postfix config lives in Zimbra.

Thanks,

Mike

Sendmail/courier. That does not matter. The old server will remain in place.

Here is the scenario I am looking for:

Mail comes in to Zimbra. If the account exists locally, deliver locally. If the account does not exist locally, forward message, via SMTP, unmodified to old legacy server.

This way I will be able to move users in small batches, or even one at a time to the new server. Users who are not yet moved do not have to change or do anything to their existing setup.

Sendmail and several commercial packages have this capability.

I know postfix has this capability. There is a single config file directive to accomplish this. With sendmail it's the LUSER_RELAY M4 macro. I just cannot locate the equivalent Postfix directive.

I’m sure one of our postfix junkies will jump in and let you know if this is possible (and how to do it)....

I recall a Zimbra deployment where they wanted to implement a similar configuration. Their solution was to first deliver mail to the legacy system, and then have the legacy system forward mail to Zimbra.
