Um, oops.

I had copied the license the sales rep sent me to /opt/zimbra/conf/ZCSLicense.xml, just as I was instructed... but apparently that's not really where it wanted it... and I'm not sure how to add it on after the fact.

And not to waste a thread-start; It's all running, albeit unlicensed... and when I try to login to the admin console at :7071, I get a dialog box from FF 2.0 saying
====
You have chosen to open

which is a BIN file, from

http://benjamin:7071

[Cancel] [Save File]

Huh?

Oh, hell... it can't *do* a redirect, can it. Crap, and I had a perfectly withering design critique all cued up and ready. Thanks. :-)

[ sets up DNAT redirects. Discovers that while the user interface for the mail client deals correctly with not being on the port number it expects (can be port-remapped on the DNAT), the admin UI does *not* deal with that correctly; mutters to self; wanders off to sign up for the bugtracker. ]

So I got back to work where I could reach the admin console (for the fun details on that, see Bug Bug 31163), and I tried to go reinstall my license... and now I know why the installer puked on it.

It appears it may not be valid.

The admin console gave me this message:

"""
Message: Your license file is not installed due to the error: system failure: error in uploaded license Error code: ZaLicenseInstallWizard.prototype.installCallback Method: AjxException.UNKNOWN_ERROR Details:system failure: error in uploaded license
"""

My thanks to whomever made it at least possible to copy and paste that message.

Been nicer if the message was, y'know, in English, and meant something, but what can you do? :-)

[ Mark solved isn't a command, silly; it's a checkbox on a posting form... ]

So the problem turned out to be that my ZCSLicense.xml file was saved by Outlook Web Access...

as a 3 byte long file.

Perhaps that's why Zimbra didn't like it.

Forwarded it to my personal email, saved it and copied it back, installed through admin; worked fine.

Hee, hee. Good thing you're moving from LookOut to a real email program, eh?
