Exclamation Watch out: 5.0.9 upgrade no contacts for Mac users!

Hi! We found a severe error in 5.0.9 (SUSE 10, 32bit):
I contacted support because after upgrading from 5.0.7 to 5.0.9 all of our Apple users using the iSync connector can no longer access their address book/Contacts in ZCS/Webmail using the AJAX version. The following error occurs for all of them when accessing contacts:
Error message in Firefox:

C is undefined message: C is undefined
msg: C is undefined
fileName: https://domain.com/zimbra/js/IMCore_...v=080814121442
lineNumber: 136
stack: ((void 0),true)@https://domain.com/zimbra/js/IMCore_all.js.zgz?v=080814121442:136 ()@https://domain.com/zimbra/mail:914 ()@...

Error message in Safari:

message: Undefined value
line: 137
sourceURL: https://domain.com/js/IMCore_all.js.zgz?v=080814121442
msg: Undefined value
name: TypeError

Support has not come up with any solution so far, so I caution everyone to not upgrade until this is solved!!!

Chris

Can anyone else reproduce this? We are considering a 5.0.9 upgrade this week.

I was able to reproduce this as well.

Looks like this is being tracked too.

You're using opensource, right? What language is your installation? Can you watch /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log while you check your addressbook and get the error? It should show an Exception, which would help us troubleshoot this. If you get an exception, please post it.

Sorry, my profile has FOSS, but to test Sync I installed a trial ed. of 5.0.9.
My language is en_US i believe. mailbox.log doesn't show any errors/exception for me. I cannot reproduce this using the standard (non Ajax) client

Are you currently using IM? It looks like it's enabled, so I'm wondering if you could temporarily disable IM and see if it helps.

zmprov mc default zimbraFeatureIMEnabled FALSE

That'll disable IM. You'd need to do this for any COS's you have defined (outside of default). After disabling, reload the client and try again.

Since this problem has been reproduced, I strongly urge everyone with Apple users to NOT upgrade to 5.0.9 as this will destroy your contacts!

Thanks for the warning, interways!

We plan to upgrade to 5.0.9 next week. I hope there will be a bugfix soon as we have Mac users also.

IM enabled by default, and I disabled it per your recommendation. I cannot reproduce this error now that IM is disabled! I even went back and forth toggling zimbraFeatureIMEnabled FALSE / TRUE to make sure that was indeed it.

So it seems we have a work around until this can be looked into further!

PS: My first attempt I did a full zmcontrol stop/start, then in my later attempts I just toggled the zimbraFeatureIMEnabled flag, then log back in with FireFox and saw immediate results (after clicking on Address Book)

Just another reminder, the non AJAX version seems OK regardless of zimbraFeatureIMEnabled
