I'm not terribly familiar with Zimbra at all, but we are looking for a mail solution besides GMail. We currently have an authentication system we built on top of MySQL. I was curious if it is possible to configure Zimbra to use a mysql table for authenticating users rather than LDAP. (Im not sure if this is easy, I was told LDAP was the only auth mechanism for Zimbra).
Also, if a MySQL table can be used, can Salt Keys and encryptions methods be specified so Zimbra can match the supplied password to the encrypted password in the table.
If it is possible, any references or URLs would be greatly appreciated.
