    Exclamation Fresh Zimbra installation does not work

    Hi all,

    I've installed zimbra on a debian etch vserver but am unable to access the web interface to administrate zimbra. The vserver I've installed zimbra in is behind a router so I've set up split DNS which is working correctly.

    I am able to ping the vserver's virtual IP (10.1.0.3) from my client pc (10.2.0.31). The vserver hosting zimbra is a remote server I'm renting. It is linked to my WAN via an openvpn VPN (which works fine). I've checked firewalling issues but couldn't find any, just to be sure I added a rule allowing all traffic to and from my pc.

    When I attempt to connect to the admin console (via https://10.1.0.3:7071/zimbraAdmin/) my browser says that it's connected but seems to be wait for something from the server. The page just stays blank.

    When I try to connect to http://10.1.0.3:7780/ I get a "It works" message.

    There are no other services (than bind) running on the zimbra vserver.

    Here is some basic information :

    root@zimbra1:/root# hostname
    zimbra1.nurvnet.org
    root@zimbra1:/root# host zimbra1.nurvnet.org
    zimbra1.nurvnet.org A 10.1.0.3
    root@zimbra1:/root# host -t mx zimbra1.nurvnet.org
    zimbra1.nurvnet.org MX 10 zimbra1.nurvnet.org
    root@zimbra1:/root# cat /etc/hosts
    # /etc/hosts

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    10.1.0.3 zimbra1.nurvnet.org zimbra1

    # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
    # (added automatically by netbase upgrade)

    ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    fe00::0 ip6-localnet

    ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2 ip6-allrouters

    you are installing packages that were not built for your OS. The installer warned you that it wouldn't work.

    The packages installed are actually 32 bit. The only reason zimbra detects it as 64bit is because I didn't fake the uname. The libs and programs running are all 32bit binaries.

    I believe that the issue is due to the fact that zimbra is installed in a vserver. Does anyone here have any experience with installing zimbra in a vserver ?
