Default Zimbra performance under Xen paravirtualized vs full virtualization

Hello,

I heard that Zimbra under Xen does perform better if installed in a paravirtualized guest compared to full virtualization.

How big is the difference in performance?

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

John

Under Xen, paravirtualized Linux performance is going to be significantly better. Why wouldn't you want to run it paravirtualized? The only reason I can think of to run Linux fully virtualized under Xen is if you need to run an old distribution which doesn't have a Xen kernel available.

If you're comparing to full virtualization under something like VMware ESX, then the answer will be different.
