Cannot connect to LDAP from a client machine

Your hosts file is incorrect, it should contain the following:

127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.1.6     email.pyxislab.com email

As I said....I commented out the 127.0.1.1 line and things are correct now....

..... and as I said, your host file is incorrect. You should have the localhost in the format I've specified.
