Default Is the zimbra.domain.com same with mail.example.com?

May I know Is the zimbra.domain.com can be same with mail.example.com?

I a bit confuse...

MTA - Zimbra :: Wiki

My PC ip is 3.244.4.19, the zimbra will install and will start at this pc.

The external ip of 3.244.4.19 which bond to mx record mail.myExample.com.my

Is it the
mail.myExample.com.my = zimbra.domain.com
or
mail.myExample.com.my = mail.example.com?

During the installation, we should input the domain name right...
================================================== =
2) zimbra-ldap: Enabled
+Create Domain: yes
+Domain to create: mail.um.edu.my
+Ldap Root password: set
+Ldap Replication password: set
+Ldap Postfix password: set
+Ldap Amavis password: set
================================================== ==

The domain is what domain.... is it the mail.example.com domain or zimbra.domain.com domain (new domain create)?

It a bit confusing... I not really know about the DNS stuff...

Thank

The easiest setup, if your server is on a public IP, would be to set the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the machine to something like zimbra.yourdomain.com. You would then add A record for the servers IP to DNS plus a MX record for your domain which points at zimbra.yourdomain.com. Then install ZCS and when it asks for the FQDN use zimbra.yourdomain.com.

Actually why TinyDNS has Master and slave ?

Why not only one DNS? Then every pc go to resolve the unknow address from the DNS...

I just configure locally on my another pc ip is 192.168.1.102 as testing

It a bit different from the link that given here
How to Host Your Own Domain with Bind9 on Ubuntu - Set-up A DNS server to host your domain or provide a DNS server to your LAN. - Softpedia

The configuration as below...
/etc/bind/zones/linux.lan.db

linux.lan. IN NS ns1.linux.lan.

/etc/resolv.conf
