Default [SOLVED] problem to run ldap

Hi,

Sorry for my future bad english, I'm a french people.

I'm trying to install the NE version on ubuntu. This release of ubuntu is the 6.06 LTS (to be fully supported by zimbra ).

I have several question. The server is a server in my LAN. During the installation process, zimbra installation ask me to change my hostname because mine is not resolved by DNS. I have put a hostname resolved with a public adress (mail.zerros.info).

After that, it tells me that no mx records found with this domain, so I have changed to zerros.info

I don't understand why the hostname have absolutly to be resolved by zimbra ?

Second question, the ldap doesn't want to run (fresh zimbra installation).
root@ubuntu:~# tail -f /tmp/zmsetup.01001900-0000139162664.log

That's the cause of your problems. You need a DNS server on your LAN to resolve the IP of your server and you need a correct hostname, I've already mentioned this in your original thread. Check the details here:

It's a prerequisite for a successful installation.

The DNS problem is the cause of this.

I've juste configured my lan dns and ldap still not start :
IO::Socket::INET: connect: Connection refused at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmldapinit line 160.

root@ubuntu:~# nslookup
> zerros.info
Server: 192.168.7.4
Address: 192.168.7.4#53

Name: zerros.info
Address: 192.168.7.5
> set type=mx
> zerros.info
Server: 192.168.7.4
Address: 192.168.7.4#53

zerros.info mail exchanger = 10 mail.zerros.info.

root@ubuntu:/usr/src/zcs-NETWORK-5.0.8_GA_2462.UBUNTU6.20080709190243# cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.7.5 mail.zerros.info zerros.info mail

Any idea ?
