Default DNS and other configs at zimbra

Hello, I'm trying to install Zimbra and i got it but I tried to send emails but they don't reach to the destination.
I didn't get it quite well the story of DNS configs at hosts file.
what should I put there?
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 at virtualbox.
the domain that I wan't is mail.gupi.pt Is it possible for me to have this host?
I also have a DDNS at my modem let's call it mygupidns.org.
my computer IP 192.168.1.2
my virtualbox IP 10.0.2.15

How to organize all the data?
And last what is the pop/imap server that I should fill in at outlook/thunderbird?

Many thanks
David

You need to follow Single Server Install and yes DNS does need to be configured properly as Postfix will require the ability to find the MX record.

I'm sure it does and I was asking help on how to configure the DNS and the rest of the things.
Could you provide an example.
I think I give all the necessary data.

Check the details in the Split DNS article link above.

You could also search the wiki for some details of what's needed for Ubuntu.
