| | | Impossible to compose HTML message with Internet Explorer Hello,
I've just upgraded Zimbra network edition, from 4.5.10 to 5.0.6. Everything went well, except for this new bug that appeared:
It happens only with Internet explorer (tested on 6 and 7), but not with Firefox, and only with certain accounts, mostly the ones that were created a long time ago, before the upgrade, but not all. It happens on any pc I have tested it.
The bug in question is that when you want to compose a new message, in HTML format, when you type anything in the body, it gets deleted ride away. It's like if the backspace key was stuck (but of course it's not that... I checked...). Even if I paste something, it's deleted ride away.
If I change the option to Text format, everything works fine (but of course it's in text format, and my customers want html ), and if I go back to HTML format, you can't type anything anymore.
I can't figure out the difference between the accounts that work fine, and the ones who have the bug, except maybe that the accounts created recently don't seem to have the bug. All accounts have the same COS.
I tried, on my test server, to upgrade to 5.0.8, but the bug was still there.
Does anybody else have this bug? What can I do to get rid of it?
Thanks in advance,
Francis |

User cannot type in the mail body editor. The cursor always move back to the previous field.
| When I type in the body editor, the cursor stays there, but everything I type is deleted.
Thanks for the answer anyway.

| | | Have you definately determined it's an account problem. Like do you get different behavior in IE on the same machine using different accounts? And a person who has the problem has the problem no matter what machine they use?
A long shot but you could do a zmprov ga and get all the account attributes for an account that works and one that doesn't, line them up side by side and loook for any diffferences that might clue you in |

Is there any progress on this? It says it's closed and that it was corrected in 5.0.7, but I tried to upgrade to 5.0.8 on my test server, and I still have this bug. Quote:

On the same computer, if I login as user A, I have the problem, but if I login as user B, I don't have the problem. I've tried user A on 3 different machines, and there is the bug each time.

| | | Can I help Found exactly the same problem in the last release.
I recently upgraded two installations to ZCS 5.0.9 on Centos 5_64 and found this bug. It affects IE6 and 7, not FF and not all users.
One installation is 4000 users multi-server, the other one is single-server 400 users.
I tried all the skins (just in case).
If I can help somehow...

| | | Work around Hi,
We found a work around for this bug :
- In preferences, change language to English (United States)
- In mail composing preference, change police size to 12pt
- In preferences, switch back to Fr language
The bug may be related to zimbraPrefHtmlEditorDefaultFontSize value, try this :
zmprov ma account@domain zimbraPrefHtmlEditorDefaultFontSize 12pt
Best regards,
