will there a packages for Ubuntu 8.04 ?
Installing the Ubuntu 6.06 packages on Ubuntu 8.04 will not work.

Unfortunately not, as zimbra hasn't released the source code.

My current setup is ubuntu 8.04 and 5.0.8 (open sourced edition) and it works fine...

The bug tracker for Ubuntu 8.04 support is already solved. So I would expect next release sometime this month as I've heard.
