Lost LDAP and MYSQL passwords

So I just did the 3.0.1 update from 3.0GA

During the process, I got an invalid credentials message. (-49)

So, I've had this trouble before, but I just erased and started all over again. Now, I can't afford to do that.

So now, I'm here:

Checking ldap on localhost:389...FAILED ( ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49) )

I also tried the zmldappasswd --root (PW HERE) command with and without the --root switch; however, when I run zmlocalconfig, the password is *.

I don't know what to do. I've tried resetting the mysql and ldap passwords, but perhaps I"m doing it wrong... Need help.

Try running zmcontrol stop
then ps auxww | grep slapd

Verify that ldap is stopped - if it's not, kill it by hand and restart.

If it still doesn't work

try shutting ldap down, then reset the password (both for root and zimbra) via:
zmldappasswd --root newpass
zmldappasswd newpass

Make sure you use the same password for both!

I well, I did that. I figured out that it's the sql password...atleast I think.

Ldap is functioning, byt my mailbox and logger arn't, so I think it it's sql

How would I reset it?

I tried some other instructions you had in the forum..and here is where I am:

the sql password? Verify that that's the problem, then use
zmmypassword and zmmyloggerpassword

Well, I think that it's SQL since the logger and mailbox are stopped.

Look in /opt/zimbra/.saveconfig/config.save for the sql passwords from the pre-upgrade install.

You can reset them in the local config with
zmlocalconfig -fe mysql_root_password='password'
to the previous values

If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to use the --skip-grant-tables option on sql startup (I think that's in the forums)

No luck changing the password. . .
So I tried the grant tables option:

You'll want to run it as it's called in the /opt/zimbra/bin/mysql.server script.

Ya, I searched and got it reset via the script.

Unfourtunetly, the logger and mailbox still won't start. I'm trying to run the install script again (I'm thinking that perhaps if I do that, it will resync everything)

What's not running? Tomcat, sql?
